Verbs of Victory: ABIDE

Get up today, inhale and exhale!!!
That’s the breath of a champion, an overcomer.
You do not have to go far to find the meaning of a true champion.
Just look inside of you. For all the rough roads that you have walked through on this journey; you have discovered the champion in you.

The word Abide means; to remain stable or fixed, to dwell; to endure; to sustain.

Where ever you stand in your journey and whatever has greeted you this day, you are here. Storms have passed over, overwhelming situations have dissipated, but you are here. What kept you? Who kept you? Look back at the lessons and give thanks for what you have learnt. Look again and consider who has been your constant companion. He is the companion of champions. God Himself is with you. You abide in Him and He abides in you.

The old Hymn by Herbert Buffum sings it this way;

“He abides, He abides;
Hallelujah, He abides with me!
I’m rejoicing night and day
As I walk the narrow way,
For the Comforter abides with me.”

The Word of God in John 14:16 tells it to us like this; “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.” The assurance is divine. He abides with you, forever. It does not matter the day or the situation or who you are, there is one stronger than you who abides, dwells and lives with you. He keeps you stable and helps you to endure. Today walk in confidence knowing that God is with you and that He abides with you.

Prayer: Father, today I thank you for your Holy Spirit who abides with me and in me. Lead me in your truth. Keep and sustain me. Today Father, I abide in you; you are my dwelling place. I declare today I remain steadfast, immovable and victorious in you, in Jesus name, Amen.
